Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of amazing people will wear it pink in their communities, schools or work places for the UK's largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.
It was our privilege a few years ago to jump in and rescue delivery of the campaign site on a short timescale after some last minute hiccups. Originally designed and built in WordPress, we made it work the first year but the way WordPress stored participant data made it harder to deliver on new developments reliably when BCN needed new functionality. Our decision to rebuild the site on Craftcms has proven to be a fantastic move and provided a more flexible and robust platform for delivering a national fundraising campaign.
Crucially for the Wear It Pink campaign month, the site needed to be able to handle lots of simultaneous traffic, which most systems will struggle to do out of the box. Craftcode's performance hosting setup guarantees we can handle spikes in traffic with no performance degradation.
